So last week my person had a call from the police and it triggered them to pay him a visit to check his mental health, they were concerned for his own safety and needed to carry out a welfare check.
Has anyone had this happen and do you think it was genuine concern or will it go against my person, he's still RUI xxx

Hi Polly, yes my person is seeing a counsellor weekly and working through the current issues and also childhood trauma.
I think if he discussed the childhood trauma with the police they might be understanding but not sure as I hear lots of negativity regarding police on here xx

We're getting on by thanks Polly, just over 2 years in and being told CPS are checking evidence again (2nd checks). Not sure if that's a good or bad sign but we're merely existing, not really living if you know what I mean :( xx
It's almost like a catch 22, because many people's offending is linked to their mental health in the first place. If the person's coping mechanism for depression and anxiety is porn, then after the knock has happened, their depression and anxiety will get a lot worse, so that creates a risk that they will go back to using porn again, in order to deal with it.
If they then tell the police that they are experiencing mental health problems, the police will see them as more risky and will probably visit them more often, which in turn may make their mental health worse, and so on.
I think the best way to approach it, is to stress to the police that any mental health problems they do have are being managed, through medication, therapy or whatever and make it clear there is nothing for them to be concerned about.

Hi Edel,
Yes my person did chat with the police and told them about his weekly private therapy and medication he's on, we'll see if anything else happens now xx
