Tomorrow my husband will be heading to the police station to see if his bail will be extended. We got the knock 3 months ago.

I know everyone is in the same boat here but has anyone found anything that may speed up the process? My husband still stands by being innocent and I do believe him. We have a soliditor who as far as I can tell so far is useless, making promises and not being able to follow through.

My husband is now talking about ending his life. He's having therapy every week but because the police took his work laptop he's not been able to work since this all happened. I'm having therapy every week now too but I really don't know what to do. Is there anyone that I can complain to regarding any of this process? The police have been awful!

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Hi,

im not sure there's anything you can do to speed things up, it can take a very long time we're currently 14 months since the knock and my husbands phone is still in a queue.

i think a lot depends where you are and how busy the police are in your area. My husband was bailed twice then Rui which makes life easier but also feels like we're the bottom of the pile, some days my anxiety is high as I know it could be any day/week even month that charges will come.

If your not happy with your solicitor possibly look at changing, you need one you feel you can get on with. My husband had one at the start who sold him a load of bull, said he'd be home after 3 months all done and dusted!! The one he has now is totally honest with him even if it's not what he wants to hear but we prefer that.
