Outsourced devices

so we've had another update the oic has emailed my husbands solicitor to inform us that his devices have been outsourced to another company due to the huge backlog and could take up to 500 days!! Apparently this is the new average time for devices to be checked. We're already at 14 months, I can't believe they can just leave us to live like this.
does anyone know if the judge will take this time into consideration when it comes to sentencing, how can they just leave someone this long to get on with there lives to then possibly face a custodial sentence.

I'm not even sure if she Means 500 days until they get the report from the devices or 500 days for cps decision on charges.
it's frustrating that we're just here re building our lives and then there just gonna come back and ruin everything. My husband has been working so hard on himself every week for the past 14 months he attends saa and has been completing his steps, he's done all the courses, lost his job as they arrested him at work which I felt was totally unnecessary, he went and retrained and straight into a new job where he is mentally doing much better as he isn't working unsociable shifts anymore.
