What is your happy place
Notifications OFF
I notice on here so much suffering for us families. My happy place is walking. I forget everything and just take in nature. And to be honest I usually get so tired as i am not the fittest so my only concern is how i am going to continue putting one foot in front of the other. I also read a lot to keep my mind occupied.
so...my question is, what is your happy place or activity? Perhaps this can help us all consider that there is life after and give everyone ideas on what things we can do to aid our own mental health

Simple things: taking a hot shower, having a cup of tea in the evening, walking and going to the playground with my kids.
What a great thread Webb - My happy place is a/ hearing my son laugh b/ gardening and being outside c/ our new family fur baby d/ being with my grandkids e/ my job f/ having control of the remote when the other half is at work!!!!! Haha......
Woodland walks and the seaside are my happy places. I'd struggle to choose between the 2.
Love these ideas.
I am taking my dogs to the seaside next weekend as they can now go onto the beaches. I love the sound of water. Been to a walk this weekend with waterfalls it is so calming.
And yes strictly love it.
Blue sky sometimes i find that walking does make me think but usually in a constructive way as opposed to when i am home and i can get quite down.
Smile through tears..I did smile when you said about your son.

Mine is walking also, just me and the dog. Sometimes I cry thinking about the people I've lost this year, the stress of the court case etc but it doesn't matter because there's no one to see. I always feel better when I get back home then xx
Webb - yes, I mean it. My son has quite a loud laugh - at times it can be irritating. The laughter vanished when he was 'found out' - the house fell silent and it was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced in my life out of all this mess.
We've gone through this darkness - the laugh has returned, perhaps not quite as loud, but it's no longer irritating, it's music to my ears!

Connections with nature provide me with moments of happiness, I feel this journey has lead me to another, one of reconnection and discovery. The simple things now make me happy. The rain on my skin no longer irritates me, I appreciate the rain and all that it does, the bird song, moments of stillness and of silence and the beauty of a night sky. I hold no particular religion yet I find the cathedral to be soothing if I need a moment to just be. I appreciate the tranquility. I also find walking to be freeing and therapeutic. I'm sadly too far from the coast but do have an abundance of parks, woodland and countryside to explore x
Deffinatly out walking but only when I have the furbaby, getting lost in just watching dramas on tv, I used to read a lot but havent for a while I love strictly but I know watch it the next day just so I can fast forward some of the what I call the boring bits lol
I also love the sound of my sons laughter the same as Smile xx

Yes, Blue sky. How good would a walking group be, all of us connecting with nature with our furbabys, and supporting on another.
Yes Upset, i also watch Strictly when i can fast forward the best bits. They make the programme so long. Ironically i do most of my walking without my dogs as they are diffiuclt walks. I cant walk and look after my dog as i am not fit enough. Thankfully there are other people to walk them. Though taking them to the woods on a weekend gives my much pleasure as well.
i also take pleasure watching my dogs. My puppy is currently lying upside down legs in the air fast asleep. Not a care in the world. I wish sometimes i could trade places!

Lol Webb I have a vision of you lying on your back with your legs and arms up in the air :-) did make me chuckle x
Sometimes i should be careful what i say. Lol.....
Been to the seaside today. First visit for my puppy. Feeling so much more positive from being out in the sunshine. My pup like my older dog did not like the water chasing her, bless her ie the waves. Simple things with simple pleasures. This is what life should be like.
I hope most people have the sunshine, as i know parts of the country has bad weather, this weekend and having a nice time in the sun.
