Question on assesments

I wasn't sure where to ask, but I've seen on the forum a few times about having a private safeguarding assesment? Or something along those lines.

I'm at my wits end with SS and just this whole ordeal in general, while I completely understand safeguarding and don't condone this type of crime at all, I personally feel that my personal situation has been extremely harsh with the conditions we've had to keep to.

Just for context, I've had SS involved since I was roughly around 15 weeks pregnant and was put straight onto a CPP. My OH and I knew from day one we wouldn't be allowed to live together and he would have to be supervised with children under 18, this wouldn't be an issue. HOWEVER, the day my child was discharged from NICU (born prem-probably due to the stress) SS told us that my OH needed supervision from a proffesional which was a huge shock for us. About a month later they changed it to supervised contact within the community which was later changed to my parent supervising contact in the community and it's only been recently since the last confrence meeting (only because other proffesionals said it wasn't in my child's best interest) that my OH was finally allowed in my parents home.

To this day, I still am not concidered good enough to supervise contact myself but like I've said I've seen it about having a private assesment, where would I see about getting this done? Costs? or just any information anyone has on the subject as I'm just getting so tired with this and I feel at every conference I'm not really listened to and everything just stays the same.

thanks in advance for any advice xx

Lee has given some good advice, I would also say you need to outline to your social worker what it is you are wanting to achieve rather than this continuing and ultimately they are trying to wear you down! Ask how you are going to achieve it or what would lower the risk to perhaps you supervising?

My OH is still RUI at the moment but due for a 2nd interview, my worries are that conditions seem strict as it is and in the likelihood that he's charged with the offence is they'll get even stricter.

I've tried on multiple occasions to have our conditions reduced to have a bit more of a normal life but still keep in bail conditions and I've been told point blank to my face "Don't bother asking for more, other families don't even get what you have" so I was always scared about pushing back, but now I've just had enough with them.

I honestly wouldn't mind paying for my own assessment but if SS doesn't always take any note of it then I kind of feel like whats the point. Especially with how my SWs have been throughout this whole thing, but I'll have a look on circle and anything else I can find.

thanks all xx
