It's been 6 years since all this happened, he got 18 months suspended and 10 years on the register, he has just informed me he's talking to a solicitor about unsupervised access to our daughter, my question is, is it SS he'll be taking to court to get access or me and what's the chances of him getting this, I'm terrified he'll win unsupervised access to her. Thanks

Hi Lee, thanks for getting back to me, SS have said he's only allowed 2 hours a week supervised. Do you know if it's SS he will be taking to court to get access?

Hi Cher,

Not sure what your person did/why he is supervised at the moment/what type of supervised he has. A jump from 2 hours a week to unsupervised is a big one but not beyond the realms of possibility spending on risk assessments etc.

A lot depends on what his shpo restrictions are in terms of 'who' he is taking to court. He might be trying to get terms within this altered, or he might simply be going to the family court, as anyone can do try to get different contact arrangements with their children post separations.

If it's the latter, if you are currently open to SS your current social worker would write an assessment with recommendations. If you are closed and have been for more than 3 months it would go to carcass for an assessment. Their website is really helpful with lots of info

Feel free to message me and I can try to unpick it a bit for you, or you can reply on here if you prefer
