Family member has recently been charged

The family member has finally spoke to his partner although she is horrified since three burly police arrested him ,been allocated a liaison officer but the information is a slow process which makes it harder.Her worry was his safety in prison butvhecsays he's ok just wants a change of clothes.Also his mother is lost in a world of her own which is heartbreaking
It's earlier days and feelings are all over the place. Just be there for each other. It's a long and slow journey xx

So sorry you're going through this. May I ask has he been remanded in prison awaiting his plea hearing? I'm sorry for my ignorance I really don't know how It works but I didn't think he would be in prison before the sentencing. Sorry if the question is too much I don't want to step on any toes

It's ok yes he is on remand waiting for a hearing not sure will he plead guilty or not as I mentioned before the information is coming in slow nothing solid maybe speak to the family liaison officer

Regarding your concerns about your brother's safety: there's hope.
There is one prison that's all convicted sex offenders - HMP Stafford. If he goes there, he won't stand out, and a lot of men will have worse convictions. He won't need segregation or to look over his shoulder.
Because it's all SO rather than career or drug criminals, there's very little in the way of drugs or gangs or violence at Stafford.
Obviously a prisoner doesn't get to decide where to serve his sentence, but people around him - doctors, lawyers, family etc - can make a case to HMPPS for him to go to Stafford and they may (or may not) listen.

There are several prisons holding sex offenders only, including the Isle of Wight.. Up to press my son has served time in three of these SO only prisons.
