HI,

Just wondering if the prisons being full has impacted any of us in any way.

If anyone has recently been charged or sentenced and what outcomes, coming on the forum helps me enormously and it's good to see the end of someones journey xx

My partners sentencing is in two weeks so I'm interested in this too that's if he doesn't get relisted. I've been looking at the court listings and loads were relisted last week for December

Louise,

I'm worried about dates getting pushed back too, is it because the prisons are full do you think or because courts are overloaded?

Xx

I use the website called courtserve. It has a list of all the courts and the cases that will be on the following day and if they are relisted it will say relist and the new date underneath it. They update it every day after 4 for the following days cases. Hope that helps. My partners plea hearing was relisted about 5 times I think!

I think it's a combination of years of underfunding in the courts, covid created a huge backlog then the barristers strikes. Also more and more offenders are getting arrested so creating a huge job for the legal system. It's a total mess!

Thanks Louise, how did you hear about your partner's being relisted? Did the courts let you know so you didn't turn up on the day?? xx
