Hi,

My persons court hearings were during covid so were via video link except sentencing but somehow the courtroom was a closed one for that too so he never had anyone with him for any of them. They may be sticking with this system in your area. As it was a new system in 20/21 there were teething issues with connections etc and it was postponed a few times. Hopefully if your area has opted to keep using it they will have ironed out any issues.
It truly is the most heartbreaking experience I've ever had and I've been through a lot in my life. If I can give one piece of advice it would be to keep communication between you and his wife as open as possible. I adore my persons family even if they drive me insane at times but communication isn't their strong suit and at times it's made me feel like they couldn't see how devastating it was for me as a partner to have been betrayed in the most intimate way so publicly. For me in those moments they still had their son, brother etc and I had nobody xxx
