Hi, new to the forum; decided to join as I thought it would help to talk to people who have been through similar situations. My OH has received a letter from his solicitor stating that his case has gone to CPS. This is nearly two years after the knock and pre-bail interview, with no updates from the police, apart from numerous bail extensions and a letter to say that he was no longer on bail February this year.
Feel very worried about what the cps will say. Does anyone know how long cps are likely to take? The waiting and feeling of the unknown is awful.
Many thanks guys

Hey,
It can vary in the length of time it takes the CPS to reach a decision as sometimes they have to go back and forth with the police to clarify information as well as ask for more details. I was told in September the case was with the CPS and had a visit from the OIC asking me for further details and the charges were then received a few days before Christmas but again, timeframes do vary. Xx

Thanks for your replies. The waiting is so frustrating isn't it
Welcome to the forum concernedpartner. My persons case went back and forward between the police and CPS at least three times. The case took 22 months from arrest to sentencing. During sentencing the judge did question the CPS as to why it had taken so long and made it quite clear that he wasn't happy with the length of time but the CPS couldn't really answer the question.
This was back in 2019 but once with CPS it took a month for charges to sent to my OH.
OH arrest Feb '22 and RUI, still not heard anything. Not text no letter, no updates. Still waiting ????
CPS took 5 weeks for us, but our solicitor was very good and chased the police every month through the whole process. We are lucky, its been a year from the knock. My heart goes out to you all where it was longer.
