Hi

My husband was conficted and has now done his sentence. 6 month in prison and 6 months on licence that has now come to an end.

He has been having supervised contact with our twin boys who are 2 with his parents being the supervisors. He is currently living at his parents and we would eventually want to move back in together.

I understand the concerns of SS but just want to be able to go out as a family. SS have only just said that I need to do some parenting courses, they haven't told me what they are. I am willing to pay. Just wondering if anyone knows,or have done any courses.

Many thanks

Hi Davier, I'm sorry no one has answered your post. It might be worth reposting on the discussion category as that is what most people tend to read. Unfortunately I'm not able to advise you on the courses as I haven't got any knowledge of this but I'm hoping by responding it wil bump your post back up and people might see it.

Hi Davier, saying you need to do a parenting course is such a limited thing to say to you - is it for general parenting eg handling tantrums, healthy eating etc or one specifically for protective parenting in cases where there's been a risk of sexual harm? It would help you to know, also for people to give you some ideas of where to look. Parents Protect is the LFF website so might be a place to start or might be able to help you find a course that's suitable. You don't want to spend time and money on something and then SS say it's not what they need!

Hi,

I have done the inform course run by lff and have just signed up to do the breaking the cycle course with circles. Not exactly what I would class as parenting courses but definitely relevant for understanding risk and putting things in place to protect our children.
Both are free courses. There are also safeguarding courses through NSPCC and other online ones. I think a popular one was maximus but I'll double check that in the morning and get back to you xxx
