Omegle gone for good!

I don't know how many people on here have had their person fall down this rabbit hole because of that site, but I am so glad it's finally been taken down! And it's finally been acknowledged how much damage it's caused! My OH would never have started doing what he did if it wasn't for that site.

I've never heard of it too. It would be useful, as a protector, to have a list of known sites to avoid. I would have no idea at present if something seen on a device is good or bad.
Good. Anything that chips away these nasty sites is nothing but good news......
Not heard off this site but glad it's been taken down hopefully other sites will be taken down. My person was on kik and would never of ended up where he has if it wasn't for that site. These sites/apps need to take some responsibility and be held accountable.

KIK is where my person got led over too, and it all started with Twitter!!!
I'm so annoyed these social media platforms have these dark sides (I knew they did, I'm not nieve, but I suppose you don't think of it till it affects you this much)
Especially Elon Musk, His Aspergus so why is he not protecting vulnerable adults on his platform grrrrrrrrrrr sorry, rant over!!!! I'm just angry today...

My husband viewed indecent images on KIK as well. I hate that app.
Thank God! OH started on Omegale and then was joined KIK after. KIK needs to go next!!

I'm surprised Omegle was still going. My friends used it in the late 2000s early 2010s and it was not a safe place at all for minors.
Kik was shut down at one point but rebooted. My OH didn't use Kik for iioc but he did have an account and that ofc flagged as a concern to probation and so he agreed to stop using it.
I was never into chat rooms but I do feel they should all go. No one needs to chat to strangers in my opinion and so easy for people to be devious.
More education is needed in schools because kids are so vulnerable. Looking for validation and escapism, so easy to be manipulated.

if prober action was taken against these sites then it would prevent a lot of offending, and save on police time. the police clearly know how bad they are hence why they're on there undercover. Surly just shutting them down makes more sense.

I just saw that it'd finally gone on TikTok. In the comment section there were numerous people saying how they'd been scarred by random people showing them things they shouldn't have seen as teens, many reporting iioc/videos had been shown to them too so sounds like a victory that it's gone. There were thousands of likes on comments talking about how traumatic it was to see what they saw and I'm glad I never went on it seeing what some of the comments described. I agree Kik needs to go next! Any apps which are renowned for enabling illegal behaviours should, it's common sense really but we don't live in a common sense world
Although it's not directly related to this, Ofcom is starting to block access to certain sites under powers it has been given in the online safety bill. The days of these anonymous apps may well be numbered.
Elon emailed back - "Sorry busy now, check back later". I have to laugh as the other thoughts are terrible haha. I was lost for words!! I'm now sending the same message to all his emails at every company.
