Our journey from the start till today.

Hello darlings.
Hope you are all ok and thought I would share my journey from the knock to present day. Feel free to add your journey.
So we got the dreaded knock in May/21 , couldn't believe it. One minute he had a great job the next gone in a split second. He went to the police station and got his solicitor and got bail. So we thought next step. Work had suspended him but they where ok with him but knew he couldn't go back.
in the December of 21 my mum passed away , she didn't know. I was the only child and she gave me the house. A long way from the knock house so nobody knew.
Second interview i think was in December as well and they found 48 pictures all categories but 24 of them got dismissed as couldn't make them out. He then handed his notice in at the work place and they where fine.
May/22 he had magistrates court and then June/22 got high court and got sentenced.
He got 2 years community order , 5 years on SHPO and 5 years on SOR. 240 hours on community service. He loved the community work working in a grave yard and got 30% for doing online work. There was no media coverage one bit.
His brother has only started talking to us again which is great and fingers crossed we can move along together.
He is working with probation on getting back to work and they have sorted out his CV which is excellent. So the next step early new year to apply for work.
Yes I decided to stay with him. Yes he has done wrong and yes he is my pain in the arse but I still love him.
Hope this helps xx

Hi Chelsea,
Thank you for posting this. It's good to read for somebody like me who's family member only got the knock last week. As I have. I idea what will happen going forward.
I am happy for you and your family that media wasn't involved at all! I think that's what I am most scared of, is those viligantes getting hold of my person or finding out where he lives.
Wishing you all the best for the future going forward. And well done for staying strong! X

Thank you for sharing your journey Chelsea. Our timescales are a bit similar but I think it's important to let new members know things are very different but there is light and we can breathe again. My husband is working so hard "for" the probation service (not with as he has finished his probation period) and is involved in all kinds of work and projects with them. Family dynamics sadly haven't changed but we love and cherish those that have stood by us.
Hope your husband finds work again soon.

Thanks for sharing, Chelsea. LFF, this is the type of post that would sit well in the new forum area I suggested: Moving forward after sentencing

Hi Chelsea 1, I'm very new here (not even three weeks yet), so it's early days and I'm struggling to see any kind of future, but it's good to read your post and know that there can be light at the end of the very long and dark tunnel. Thank you x
Thank you Upsetmum xx
Hiya Lost.

Thanks for sharing your story Chelsea it does give hope for the future.
We are now nearly 10 months post sentencing and adjusting to the new normal but in a far better place than this time last year when we still unsure what the outcome would be- as I've said to my son each day is one step further forward and we will get through this together.
