Engineering job

My person will be looking for a job in engineering. I wondered what things people have looked out for in professional job adverts post sentencing? He's currently suspended and will be trying to resign asap before potentially being sacked
We don't want to spend hundreds of hours applying to be faced with a DBS check at the end. How have people searched for jobs that fit the remit?

My OH a senior engineering manager and says they very rarely do checks x
Could I message you? He had to be DBS for his job and they requested a fresh one recently hence forced disclosure. It was quite a specialist role so we feel stuck with what to do and where to go
In the moment
After what my person has gone through with his suspension then subsequent dismissal I would now with hindsight definitely say to resign before anything else happens.

Thank you that's helpful to know. He's only in his 30s and we are not in a position for him not to work :(
My partner has an engineering/civils background. Works in a small firm and no background checks required. So I recommend looking at small to medium sized firms. Larger corporate companies tend to ask about convictions
My oh works in engineering his never been asked for a DBs and got a new job really easy. His old place said he had to tell them about any new convictions so he left
My OH works for a small family run engineering business and had no checks done. Smaller companies seem to be your best bet x
