Due to my location and workplace there are times during my working week when I get to see prison officers escorting prisoners from my local prison. As I pass them I always try to make eye contact and smile and often receive a smile in return. What I have observed during my encounters is the positive relationship between the prisoners and the prison officers. They chat together and appear very comfortable in each others company. I just thought I'd share this in case anyone needs to hear this today.
My son always speaks very highly of the prison officers and staff in general. He said if you give them no stress they are ok with you and you can have a laugh with them.

This warms my heart, I must say whenever I have had to go to A&E there is always someone in there either from the prison or brought in by police and they are always chatting and supporting them. I do the same, eye contact and smile, They are humans and we make mistakes.
When my husband had his heart attack and was in hospital the prison guards who were with him allowed him to use their mobile to keep me updated :)
