A family member committed an offence 8 years ago and served time. Thankfully kept reasonably quiet and they returned to normal life. They have just been arrested and bailed for the same offence!!! He swore blind he would never do this again. The family are devastated and its taking a till on us all. I seem to have become head of everything and I just feel so alone, like there's no one to turn to.

My kids have sworn they have no involvement, they are 20 and 10 so that's a relief, but how do I get my head around what's happened and get the family member to talk to me??

I understand they feel awful and all.of the above BUT how can we make an informed decision of support if we don't know all the facts.

Sorry if this is the wrong board, I'm so relieved to find somewhere to offload x

Hi,

I'm so sorry that you find yourself in this situation again. If you want to reach out to your family member maybe try writing a letter with your questions on if you don't feel up to having that conversation right now.
It is a huge relief that your children were not involved, my older two were teens at the time of arrest and it was the first thing I checked once the police had left.

Sendung you all love and strength xxx
