Hi

I tried to post about this over the weekend but maybe it's because I named the person, my post didn't get published.

But I read a out a female teacher who groomed and sexually abused a 15-year-old pupil. She sent him explicit messages, photos and videos of herself and then had penetrative sex with him outside. Afterwards she threatened him so he wouldn't tell anyone.

Now obviously this crime didn't stay on the realm of online but became a full blown contact offense. Why I am writing about this hear is that the teacher has three kids. Up until she was sentenced to prison, she was allowed to live with the kids and look after them. She has also been allowed to spend time with the kids while she's been on day release from prison. Her plan is to live with the children after the release.

And I find this disgusting. Men who have offended online are getting a blanket refusal for access to their own children. Only supervised access is allowed and sometimes not even that. Some men can't even speak to their children via phone. Online offending is extremely serious too but I am so disappointed that when a mother commits a contact offense, they're somehow exempt from the risk.

I am beyond angry.

Just want an end to it

Hi,

I find this really interesting as I have worked with a foundation that fights for the rights of men as they get treated differently from woman within the CPS.

I have always wondered about the Lucy Letby case and how I didn't hear much about it until the end, if it was a male midwife, would it of been reported more?

I'm going to be hesident here as obviously I haven't got the facts of the case from the source infront of me, and I actually don't know what the stipulations of a man in that position would be, but I would think he would be removed from his childen under bail at the very lest. It does seem absolutely bazzar that a male looking at images gets shipped out stright away and a contact offence that lead to sex with a minor is treated differently. I find the whole system madness.

I often wonder with my son that if it was an autistic girl, just over 18. would it be the same outcome? Maybe a freedom of information act needs to be done on this.

I read that this was her sentence so not even Prison which seems unbelievable. What would a man get for this offence ?

She appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court and admitted engaging in sexual activity with the boy in September last year. Sheriff Liam Murphy ordered her to carry out 300 hours of unpaid work and put her under supervision for three years. She will be tagged for 12 months and is banned from having unsupervised contact with children other than her own. She was put on the sex offenders' register for 10 years and added to the list of those unsuitable to work with children. The sheriff also banned her from contacting the victim or his family members for five years.
