It's definitely possible, I have been the social worker for a family where this was on the shpo and the dad was a contact offender, and he loved in the family home throughout because his risk assessment against his own child came out as very low. We had safety plans in place but they all loved together.
There are hurdles to overcome to get there in terms of his risk assessment against your child/ren and also your ability to protect plus safety planning especially for overnights eg who sleeps where, do you have monitors etc etc

My partner has similar condition. Mist be signed off by ss, can't just be with parents permission. Of you don't have both in agreement then a breach.
