We wanted to post a quick reminder about keeping yourselves safe on this forum. We have noticed a few threads over the past few days where people have disclosed their general locations, like the county they live in.

We want to be very clear that we absolutely do not want to discourage any forum users from sharing local resources for support, that is what this forum is for. However, we did just want to remind users about being mindful of whether sharing their location broadly could lead to them being identified. This forum is intended to be anonymous for the safety of all users. It’s important to consider that whilst sharing just a county in one post may not be enough to identify you, it may be possible for people to link that, along with details from other posts to establish your identity. Therefore, we simply encourage users to consider what information they have shared in the past before disclosing general local information.

Please also remember that you can use direct messaging to establish contact with each other on a more personal and private level. This can be a great way for users to find out each other's location and make plans to arrange meet ups.

If any users have any concerns about what they might have shared please do contact the forum team on forum@lucyfaithfull.org.uk

As always, thank you so much for using the forum and for providing one another with such wonderful support.

Best wishes,

The Forum Team
