Hi ladies.

Police has requested a second interview next week and I'm worried sick about next stages. Have been prescribed medication for high blood pressure (maybe as a result maybe due to being pregnant at my age), as it has to be kept down during the pregnancy.

Hope everyone is well, and I'm sorry if anyone's Christmas looks a little different this year. I'm finding it harder now, having to plan around the situation and people. Declining events and family invitations.. Wondering how many people think I am being unreasonable, not knowing everything else that's going on.

Have been making a start in Christmas this week and most gifts bought now. Trying to keep postive about it this year (2nd since knock) but am a bit wobbly.

smile and upset good to hear sons are doing well (even if working outside in this weather!)

Flower, sorry to hear about blood pressure but I really wouldn't worry about declining invitations. You're pregnant - you have a ready made excuse! I used it for an excuse for everything when I was last pregnant!!

have a lovely weekend all xx

(and I eagerly await the hungry caterpillar list!)

it's not been the best week for me. I'm involved in a very stressful situation at work which I haven't coped with very well at all. It's made me realise how vulnerable I still am. Having survived the past 25 months I know what I need to do and will be starting a 6 week course through Talking Therapies in the near future.

Upset, I hope you enjoy your time with you son tomorrow. Smile, I hope you enjoyed your rare evening out. Flower, I hope you're pregnancy is going well (with the exception of high BP).
K4, sorry to hear you're a bit wobbly at the moment. Those wobbly times are so hard.

I've still got lots of Christmas gifts to buy but the house is decorated and looks very Christmassy.
I wish you all a peaceful weekend and I'm sending hugs for those who need one.

Parkerpoo, it makes me sad to think that you'll be on your own. If you didn't live so far away from me I would happily invite you to come and spend the day with me.

Hello friday check in

I have just been mega busy. I try to keep myself busy so i dont have to think. Not the greatest solution long term but it helps at the moment. Going to a xmas market with an overnight stop with a friend so looking forward to that. Nothing much else happening really.

I just try and enjoy my furbabies and go on plenty of walks. The leaves this time of year is stunning and i try to see the marvel in nature.

I am sorry some of you are struggling and life should not be one long struggle, but heres hoping things will improve.

i hope Upset you give us the list of the hungry caterpillar.

i hope everyone will join me on the 13th for a vitual xmas party/drink. I know it wont help you much parkerpoo1 but i hope it will remind you that you are never alone.

Here to a nice week for everyone. X

I'll join in on the 13th (good idea Webb) we raise a glass to our community here on the forum. Each and everyone - either a reader or poster, we unite together encased by a warm wrap round of love and support, us against the world.....

Be nice if the LFF team joined us!

how dramatic is that? And no I'm not on the wine or hung over from my party!!!!!!! Xxxxxxxxxxx

Hi everyone

I've had a busy week at work. Very messy with the festivities starting. To end it I had gritting to do yesterday morning around the building ( part of my job) but it's just about finished me off. I'm lying in bed currently coughing and aching :)

Wreath making next week so looking forward to that. Hope everyone has a good weekend and big hugs to all especially the people who haven't had the best of weeks xx

Evening lovlies x

We had a lovely. visit my fear was my son was stuck with me for 2 hrs on his own usually his sister is on the visit and she brings out the laughter in him but I have to say it was just perfect, we laughed, he ate, we hugged, he ate , he spoke about his feelings and I just felt so so incredibly proud of him , of how well he has adjusted and coped, he really is a beautiful soul and I just couldn't be prouder,

As if the visit couldn't get any better the actually had CRUMPETS

So he managed 6 crumpets, a pack of 3 bourbon biscuits, a bag of pom bear crisps, a chocolate orange coated shortbread reindeer biscuit, a ham sandwich and a drink

A breather was needed

A pot of chocolate icecream (they had no heating in the visitors hall and it was bloody freezing) but he managed to eat the icecream

A Cadbury chocolate pud, a malteaser chocolate reindeer, another ham sandwich, bag of salt and vinegar crisps and a bag of peanuts

I had 2 crumpets and 3 teas and a latte

Now you know how we managed a 2 hour vist lol xx

This week has seen the end of my Talking Therapy course. Technically it was only session 5 of 6 but I really couldn't find anything else to say. I'd said it all: what happened on the day of the Knock, how I felt about it, how things were before the Knock, worries about the future in case of a criminal conviction (work and personal life) and I'd talked about the wonderful support on this forum. The counsellor asked me "has it helped?". I don't know that it has. Time heals as they say and while the last 10 months since the Knock have seen some stressful meetings and conversations because of the arrest, things have generally settled while we wait for the next stage. Given that I had about 7 months to wait for counselling to start, in some ways talking about it all opened up old wounds. I was told I can self-refer again if I need to in the future but will go to the end of the waiting list of course.

Can't say I'm looking forward to Christmas. I'm entertaining (visitors) and find the whole thing very stressful. In some ways I quite enjoyed lockdown Christmas as I didn't have to host anyone lol! But I have just ordered my turkey today so at least I've made a start!

Stay warm everyone xx

Take care everyone.I have been more settled & started talking more to my stepson since his arrest in April.Still no idea what will happen to him as he was 15 when viewing & making images of 10-16 year old girls. He's now 17 & in 6th form carrying on living as normal as poss!

Then awful news today that my 21 year old son found sexually explicit messages on his girlfriends phone to a guy she works with in the early hours of this morning!! He was living with her & that's it!! More sexual shit, what's going on in this world. My poor sons world has fallen apart????

Upset and Webb, I love the idea of a Microsoft teams virtual Christmas party. It would be so good to chat to people on a forum like that.

Omg - snow has arrived - hate it!

Anyway glad you had a good visit Upset and your son had no consequences after eating so much - haha.....

quite disgusting there was no heating in the visiting hall - especially as no doubt a lot of people have had long car journeys or even travel on public transport to get there.....

I think as many prisons are SO old they suffer heating issues, I remember one time my son had NO heating and they had to wrap blankets round them, while the officers were issued heaters. Thankfully where he is now they are treated liked human beings and he has the luxury of a radiator in his room.

Hello, Upset Mum and all other forum users,

We’ve been really pleased to read the suggestions that have been made about organising a virtual gathering in light of the festive season. You are of course more than welcome to make private arrangements through the direct messaging service, however, please be cautious when sharing personal information.

Alternatively, we would like to offer our services in trying to help with this request. We may not be able to dedicate our time on the 13th of December, as has been suggested, but it could be possible to arrange something a little later in the month, before Christmas. To do so, we need to gather information on how many people are interested and what you may want this online meeting to look like.

So, if you are interested, please could you email us at forum@lucyfaithfull.org.uk , and let us know:

- That you would like to be considered for this

- What would you like from us? Would you want us to structure/ facilitate some conversations? -

- How much would you like us to be involved?

- Would you prefer an evening or daytime meeting?

- What measures can be put in place to help you feel safe and supported?

- And anything else you think needs to be considered

Please be aware, that if this is something you would like to take part in, then this would mean you would lose your anonymity to the foundation (although not to other forum users). This is vital in our responsibility to safeguard individuals when needed.

Please can users respond by Monday 11th December at 5pm for your response to be considered.

Kind Regards

The Forum Team
