Disclosing to job agency
Notifications OFF
We are finding that job agencies for very basic jobs like warehouses are asking for any unspent criminal convictions. Anyone got any tips or know of agencies that don't ask I'd be keen to hear!
Don't go through agencies, go to the website of the company. The agency will just have a standard application for all job roles.
Also on UNLock, There is a list of employers that don't ask
Thanks, unlock over the phone said that list was useless because they all just ask at interview instead! We are trying to find individual companies but a lot seem hidden :(
So some do ask at interveiw but they do support too, it depends what the manager is like.
Look at www.ex-seed.co.uk. I contacted them but my husband is unable to register until 3 Months prior to release or following. Good luck x
Life feels over thank you I've sent an enquiry through, I'll update if they are helpful!!
I haven't got any advice for you but do wish you luck and hope you get sorted with something x
Has your husband found anything yet Caggie? I remember he was also looking? I just feel so stressed about it, we need the money to keep him in his accommodation as he isn't allowed home yet
Inthemoment
He's only been looking and hasn't applied for anything yet. Got his last wage at the end of Nov so that will see him through Dec. I think he's been holding off as he's back at the police station for the first time since arrest next week so I think he was reluctant to do anything until after he'd attended. He did apply for a DBS ( just basic)and it's come back clear, as he's not been charged with anything yet obviously. I think that made him feel better about applying for things. Will keep you updated though xx

That's great news Caggie, if he has a clear DBS and no conviction yet it should be fairly straightforward to find something basic, although I appreciate a little trickier as he's older; fingers crossed for you!
Thank you X I hope you get sorted soon too x
