Hi Everyone,

Hope you are all good?

I spoke to the LFF last week as I am looking at doing the inform course, to get a better understanding and to support my son in any way I can going forward.

I spoke about how I wondered if we could do a group for parents, so that we all had an understanding of supporting our children in the future, espeacally as I have seen so many parents of youths on here since I joined (not that long ago)

So I wondered if any parents are interested in doing the inform course if they wanted to get intouch with LFF, we can look at setting one up.

We're parents but our son isn't a youngster - however my husband and I did the Inform course as a face to face with the tutor as we live a reachable distance from one of the LFF offices. I would like to encourage any parent/relative/friend to do this course as it was so helpful and enlightening. I can imagine that it would be a great source of finding a community to do it as a group, whether FtoF or online.

I would be very interested in this if it could be extended to sons of all ages.

Thank you Rainey Day, I'm so glad you got a lot from it... I hope I and others will too. My Son is really enjoying his course.

Hi Ocean, I'm not bothered by the ages of our children, I felt it would be nice for a group of parents to go through the "what it's like to be a parent" and connect. I get we are all in the same storm here, and what a horrible storm it is, but there are different boats of parents, partners, wives, husbands, people with children, people without.... to name a few.

I asked them to put my application on hold with the hope that other parents would come through. If you are interested, please contact them. I would so love to do the course with others in the same boat.

Hi,

Yes, I'd be interested. We need to do all we can to help and support our children, nomatter what their age is. My son attended the course when he was 20 and we need the continued support as there isn't a silver bullet to end this. We need to move forwards with positivity, learn what we can and be there for them. And if that means attending the inform course, I'm in.
