Always a reminder
Notifications OFF
Hello all,
My husband has to attend the police station as our little granddaughter is coming with her parents to stay over Christmas. I am so looking forward to having them here but find no matter how we try to move on there is always something that brings us back to remind us of the offence and in our situation it's the notification requirements of the SOR. I hate the idea that my husband has to attend a police station every time we see our granddaughter, they live 200 miles away so they have to stay when they visit. I am sorry for having a moan at the same time being sensitive to worse situations for some families but it is these sort of things that never let us forget what has happened no matter how hard we try to move on.

Hi Katie, I'm sorry that you've been reminded of the restrictions once again but hope you have a lovely Christmas with your family.
In a strange way, your post has actually given me hope. I didn't think we'd be able to have family staying with us if they have children. Knowing that this might actually be a possibility has given me some hope.

Ocean, that is so kind of you and I am so glad it has given you hope. I too thought we would never be able to have our grandaughter staying with us but after initially having SS involvement they were happy we had a safe plan in place and discharged my grandaughter from requiring any further involvement. It literally took a week to sort out and it happened within the first month of sentencing.
There is hope and a new life afterwards but I have to say life is so much better these, definitely not what I expected 2 years ago when I couldn't see the wood for the trees.
Hope you have a lovely, peaceful and happy Christmas too.
Best wishes
