My son has a Crown hearing in a week. He was stung by vigilantes summer of 2019. He was physically and verbally abused before they hit record to livestream him. The videos are online everywhere racking up hundreds of thousands of views. He has recieved death threats as a result. All sorts of PTSD, sudden agoraphobia, constant paranoia, severe depression, suicidal ideation and even a suicide attempt.
He was 20 when he offended. A young, lost soul. He downloaded Monkey app, a video chat app supposedly rated 18+, whereby you are randomly connected to strangers to talk for a couple minutes. He had good intentions when he downloaded it, he wanted to interact with adults to pass time as he was feeling depressed and lonely. Initially the conversations were normal, talking to adults. Few weeks in it became adult woman exposing themselves to him without his request. After a while he became desensitised and sadly that is when he offended. He never actively searched for anything or anyone, but he should have said no, deleted the app and found something healthy to do. He regrets it tremendously and wishes he hadn’t hurt the victims. He hasn’t had a good night sleep in half a decade. His whole lofe has been put on pause all this time.
Since then he has turned it all around. He has spent the past 5 years doing course after course, therapy after therapy, read so many books and research papers. He stopped watching p**n alrogether immediately after the sting. His faith has strengthened tenfold. Soon as he became certain he will never reoffend, he created his own website and YT channel to spread awareness on offending so he can help protect children online.
I am proud of him. He has had to wait so long but the end is finally near. He was a lost boy, now he is a changed man. I hope his hard work does not go unnoticed and he is given a chance to grow his platforms so he can help stop another story of wasted potential and ruined lives. He acknowledges his mistakes and has done everything he possibly can to make sure they do not reoccur. He is more than his offence. He is not an evil monster. He is a kind, caring, sober, loving young man. Please keep him in your prayers.

Hi Proudmum,
What an amazing tribute to and celebration of your son. I am so impressed that he wants to follow up on his desire to warn others and I will certainly remember him in my prayers as he faces his court case. LFF should use his input!
Please let us know how things go if you have the time and energy xx

What a wonderful person your son is and well done to him for turning his life around xx
Proud Mum, thank you for posting such a heartfelt and inspiring post. I will certainly keep you and your son in my thoughts and prayers.
Proud Mum,
My heart aches for you and your son, the way these crimes are treated is barbaric.
You should be so proud of your son and the man he has become and I pray for your crown court date, since 2019 until now is a crime in itself to wait for the final conclusion to the madness you've endured. We've waited since September 2021 and still waiting for crown court date.
Thinking of you and your son and sending hugs and love to you both xxx

Thank you all for your kind messages. I actually made this post end of 2023 but it took time for moderation due to the festive period. I am just praying that he gets a second chance at life as I know he will make the most of it this time.
Wow what a story - no wonder your heart bursts with pride.....
his venture to educate others is admirable - well done ....,
