Before the madness begins, welcoming 2024 - I want to take the opportunity of just saying 'thankyou'.

This forum has saved my life, it/you have supported me through the agony of this journey, during times of desperation and pain you have given me a space to come to that's listened and understood with no judgement only love and kindness to offer.

You are my secret circle of friends, we hold each others hand as we navigate through this awful time in our lives. I have made a particular special friend in Upset - she means the world to me, her support is pure gold. Again I give a heartfelt 'thankyou'......

in this new year, as with life I suppose, none of us know what it will bring but I hope peace will reach you in some way, shape or form. That's all we can ask.

so big hugs sent to each and everyone of you x.lets grab 2024 by the horns and keep our unique strength up and bravely face its challenges - together......

Thank you Smile. You have helped me along with others, Upset and Ocean to name a few, this year. I just hope that this new year is better than the last couple of years.

Happy new year Smile. X

I'm a little bit on the outskirts and read/post in flurries but I too have valued the forum as a place to retreat to and feel supported and amongst friends who actually know because they have been there too. I suspect i might be one of the oldest members (DOB 1952!) and I feel incredibly maternal towards many of you. My person, my son, is in his 40's so probably older than many of the husbands/partners on here. As we have lived a full life up until this point and are on the other side of the hill with life expectations, so to speak, my husband and I are perhaps in a more fortunate place than many members of the forum (although it has still been the most traumatic time of our lives) but here we are all on an equal platform of supporting and standing by each other. Sometimes we need a hug, sometimes we can offer it.

Thank you from me to all of you.

And in the words of Charlie Mackesey (the artist who created 'The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse' if you saw the animated version or have the book)

"A whole year, and what have I done", said the boy. "You made it this far", said the horse, "you are spectacular".
