Hi everyone,

my husband has his first hearing this coming Monday, and we are hoping some of the charges will be dropped. But even with it, he's going to plead not guilty.

I was wondering if anyone here has experience going forward with a proper trial and jury etc? what was the outcome? We have a great barrister, expert in these cases, and it's going to cost us a hell of a lot of money, so I just want to make sure we have the best outcome from this, and to make sure we arent spending money we don't have on a lost cause.

my husbands charges include communication with a 12 year old (decoy) and inciting sexual acts within the conversation. My husband clames it was a role play situation.

thank you!

We have just done a not guilty and went to trial was kept at magistrates Court, spent a ridiculous amount of money no jury was literally the judge deciding and he was found guilty, it was 5 images not searched for which our expert was there to confirm, and police also confirmed. Feel free to message me

Hi, my son had very similar charges to you and was advised at plea hearing to plead guilty. He was told that if he didn't and was found guilty he would go to prison. He pleaded guilty and got a 2 year suspended sentence.

The role play/fantasy defence is common, but it can only work if there is evidence that he might reasonably have believed they were role playing.

This case is a good example of the issues involved.
