Hi everyone, hope you're all enjoying Saturday!
We're still waiting on a crown court date. Just thinking about the prisons being full and if this is impacting how judges are dealing with cases over the Christmas period and going forward.
Has anyone been at court recently for sentencing and what was the outcome? I've seen a few people posting about sentencing but I can't always remember what thread it was on:(

The judge in my persons case made reference to the fact that the prisons were full and said they had been asked to avoid sending people to prison if possible.
Hi, my partner has been sentenced in October 2023 and got unpaid work.
I read multiple times somewhere that judges are discouraged from giving out custodial sentences due to overcrowded prisons.
