Crown Court... Overwhelmed with everything

When your OH is sentenced, he will get support from probation who have a vested interest in helping him find work. If he has a job, he's much less likely to reoffend.
it can be difficult to find work, but from what I can see on here, most people who want to work, do. (Some are too ill or don't need to etc)

Oh King the weeks and days leading up to sentencing is such a tough time. My person was also told to prepare for the worst so I can relate to what you're going through.
I am not going to say finding work is easy. My person has been job searching for the last couple of months and hasn't yet found anyone willing to give him a chance. His SHPO does restrict where he can work though so this doesn't help.
One of the suggestions given to me by people on here is to consider going self employed. This is definitely an option he will explore if he hasn't found work after 6 months.
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts over the next few weeks and hoping for a better outcome than expected.

Sorry I didn't see your original post so replying based on what others have said.
think on the job front a lot depends on where you live and whether you have transport. My person found a job within 3 weeks of being sacked, minimum wage warehouse work. He's travelling half an hour in the car for it. Avoid job agencies and apply for small firms who are unlikely to ask for references, criminal checks or DBS checks. If they do ask, hopefully if it's on paperwork afterwards or before you can just reply saying you've found an alternative position, avoiding the need to disclose
Self employment is a good option I believe, and something my person is going to look into in a year or so when things are more settled
