Has anyone felt the coverage of postmasters triggering? I really struggled watching the first episode, whilst their situation is very different and I can't fathom going through this when you are completely innocent, it touches on subjects many of us have experienced - Encouraged to plead guilty over not guilty, the shame and being social ostracised, the press coverage, the length of time the investigations go on for, navigating a legal world that's is unfamiliar, navigating and 'taking on' powerful organisation, not knowing the truth and who can be trusted, the financial impact, the impact it has on family. As I say, I can't fathom having the strength and reliance to go through this knowing you are 100%, innocent.

It just shows that people do plead guilty to things they are innocent of. There have been so many things covered in the press in the last 12 months that shine a unfavorable light on our justice system.

I have been thinking exactly the same as you and also found it triggering. The judgment that the postmasters talk of and how everyone is quick to jump to the wrong conclusion and think they know their story. I feel so so sorry for them. Our justice system needs a huge over haul. Lives ruined (some ended) forever and it's all been covered up. It's disgusting

So sad.

My dad worked for the Post Office for many years. He was 'old school' and very proud in saying he 'worked for the Queen'.

The amount of people whose lives were ripped to bits. Tragic....

I have literally only watched 1 episode for the same reason as you. I have found it immensely triggering and not an enjoyable watch. It raises so many emotions and in many ways I don't want all that emotion bubbling up to the surface.

I do hope those watching it will realise that the legal system is not great. That innocent people are advised to plead guilty to avoid prison. My husband has aways said he did not view the IIOC, I believe him. However because it couldn't be explained where the images were from, despite the fact it was a shared PC, nothing on personal devices he was told to plead gulity. it's like the subpostmasters, they money was "missing" they hadn't stole it so the logical explanation was they were lying.

I am not surei will be able to watch any more of it.

I too find it really triggering, and I am off the opinion in a generation or two, 'possession' will not even be a crime that police is going after. Bit like cannabis on the street, nobody cares now.

Dramas have a great way of conveying a story and emotions in the way media reporting can't. There is a good reporter (Tristan Kirk) that is shining a light on many of the poor aspects of the legal system. I genuinely believe if tax payers knew more about the justice system they'd feel very short changed - It's so hidden. I don't think anyone will be brave enough to take on this story in a drama but I hope the writers of Time decide to do a third series from the families perspective and struggles of having someone in prisons.
