Frustrated again

Hello ladies, I hope you've all had a lovely Sunday. I am feeling very frustrated this weekend and I don't really have anyone to vent to so here I am. An incident has happened with one of my older children recently because of our persons conviction, I won't go into detail about it but its left me in a place of frustration. I have said before that I feel that nobody cares about my children, when I say nobody I mean the whole system, the press, the authorities on occasion, the court. Boxes are ticked and processes are followed to protect our children from possible risk but what about their mental health and their futures after all of this trauma. The reason we are all here is because children have been abused, that's a fact. Whether that's through deliberate or unintentional actions from our people. In the aftermath, the children that are family members of the offender are also suffering, do they deserve that? Is it inevitable and do we have to sit back and accept that we are all collateral damage? The children on the other side of all of this are stigmatised, ostracized & bullied because of something that is absolutely out of their control, how is that ok? We need to move on as best we can but for us ladies living every day with this hanging over us it's not as simple as sweeping it under the rug as if it didn't happen. Whether we are on day 3 or day 1003 since the knock, it's always there. I do not condone child abuse of any kind, I'm certain that 100% of the ladies here are with me on that. I don't know how to word this without sounding insensitive but it's as if some kids are worth protecting and others are not.
I could not agree more! One of the MPs, I think it's Sarah Champion (don't quote me on that) is trying to get the law to recognise our children as secondary victims (and us partners). Hopefully (but I am not holding my breath) this will eventually lead to more restrictions on how the media report these issues, making us less of a sitting duck. We can but hope.....
Thank you for sharing this, I will definitely have a look to see what work she is doing. Xx
