Are you considering a holiday overseas or in the UK?

For overseas there is advice here https://www.nacro.org.uk/nacro-services/advice/advice-for-individuals/travel-with-a-criminal-record/travelling-abroad-while-on-the-sex-offenders-register/

If in the UK, my understanding is that it's fine but you have to notify the visor team if it's going to be more than 7 nights (I'm relying on my memory here so hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong) I do know that you need to check T&Cs before you book as some holiday companies say nobody on the SOR can stay there. People say Airbnb is a good bet for bookings.....

Lucky son and family!

Hi,

UK is 7 days not 7 nights but each PPU will interpret that differently so its best to notify to avoid any issues x

He will need to notify them himself at least 7 days before with the details of his flights and where he will be x

If there's no conditions he should be fine but if you want to keep it as a surprise then you would have to give all details to his visor in advance, we normally give about a month notice, also if social services are involved they are normally informed too

I believe details of the trip like where they are staying (eg hotel) maybe needed for an abroad holiday and a general itinerary. That is what my partner will be doing as we plan to go abroad this year or next.

SOR has further details on the notification period- at least a week in advance
