Knock was Nov 19 and sentencing Aug 21. Covid slowed ours down but each case/police force is different.

22 months for us. It was about 20 months from arrest to charges, 1 month from charges to plea hearing and 1 month from plea hearing to sentancing.

Arrest summer 2017, sentence two years later. But this was ofc before COVID. Manu variables like amount of evidence to recover and work load in general of the police force. For us it was very quiet for he first year and half. Then ramped up that charges made a month after second interview, and sentemce a month and half after charges given

Today is the 1st anniversary of the day our son was arrested and his devices are still somewhere being looked at or in a queue waiting......

Rainyday, I'm thinking of you today. Although it's a date we'd all rather forget, I find the anniversary of the day of the arrest seems to trigger the emotions and feelings of those early days.

Rainyday my thoughts are with you today these dates really do trigger our emotions don't they?

Today is a year since sentencing and although I am so thankful to be on the other side I have spent most of the day remembering the sheer terror and despair that I felt and crying at intervals.

We were also woken very early on Wednesday by a knock at the door which was in fact related to storm damage but I was petrified and it took me right back to the day of arrest.

My partner got the knock beginning of January 2021. It took ages to get to the first plea hearing after they were cancelled a few times. His sentence hearings have also been relisted about 3 or 4 times ( lost count!) he has sentence hearing in a week. It's absolutely ridiculous we've waited over 3 years!, a sentence in itself. I have stayed with my partner but it's been the most horrible time in limbo. I'm a changed person full of horrible anxiety and resentment towards my partner. It will take alot to rebuild our lives but we've been together over 30 years!

7 months in and nothing :( it is so strange now.... try not to think about it most days but it is just there lurking away in the back of my mind all the time with a reminder every 4 weeks when SS turn up.

I am 25 months down the line:

Jan 23 - Knock

Sep 23 - Advised Devices Back

Oct 23 - 2nd Police Inverview, no Charges, RUI with Bail extension to Jan 24

Jan 24 - Bail Extension until Apr 24

And now I don't know where we are. All I know is whatever evidence they had for arrest couldn't be linked to his devices. My OH has denied the allegations all along.



At the moment I feel this Limbo we are in until April again is worse than the knock to 2nd interview. I think because I don't actually know what's next. Most posts I see on here mostly have a similar pattern, but mine seems slightly off. Or solicitor also seems to be just very flippant about it all. My thoughts are with you.

Over 7 months and nothing so far.. xx

first time, 3 months.

Second time, 7 years later, two years and has just gone to the CPS.
