Pre sentence report/ social justice report

We have sentencing coming up the social worker who is preparing the report wishes to speak to me also is this normal?? We are still together and I have fully supported him..
My partner's social worker never asked to speak to me before sentencing even though we stay together. Maybe it's just to collaborate whatever your partner told her?
Do you have children at all my mind is on overdrive why they need to speak to me
In Turmoil - I'm only guessing but I suspect that social justice in the context of sentencing is a positive thing. I found this on the Centre for Social Justice's website which may be totally not what the probation officer meant but have a read.....

Many thanks rainyday52 for this as you are all aware the week before sentencing seems to be the worst and I am more than likely overthinking it all will await the phonecall on Monday x
