My son has been caught viewing illicit images and this will be his second offence I am so frightened and so is he if he gets a prison sentence as he really struggled last time trying to kill himself he has received no help since he last came out of prison 5 years ago and it's not through the want of trying

He's been trying to get support with his mental health from when he first came out of prison but community mental health team just dismissed him as he was crying for help he's had numerous visits to a&e and ambulance call outs due to his mental health but the just dismiss him we are both so scared as he said he can not go back to prison as he would not cope
I have no words of advice but wanted to post some support for you. I hope that both you and son are able to get more help very soon xxxx

Hi Abby - how awful and devastating that your son has wanted and needed help and none has been there for him. Small comfort but I sincerely hope that this new situation, which probably feels the worst thing ever now, can be a doorway to some proper help for him. I hate to think of people being abandoned by the very system that promises to rehabilitate them and give them a future.
