I tried to re date him and see if we could reconcile after what happened but I think it was too fresh and raw.
August 23 I met someone new and we've dated since.
I just can't shake how I feel about my person. It makes me sad we can't be together because my daughters dad has expressed he'd take her away if I did. As well as all the people I'd lose as a result.

You know your daughter is your main priority and you are doing what's best for her and her protection. I see where her dad is coming from.
I have stayed in the relationship but he is my childrens dad so it's different circumstances. I can say from my experience, life is not amazing, it's really hard and I'm not sure if or when we will ever be happy again. By taking yourself and your daughter out of the situation, you have made life easier for yourself even if you don't fully realise it yet
Sometimes people have to leave relationships for a lot of reasons that has nothing to do with whether there is love between you. All of your feelings of confusion are valid. Maybe your not 100% sure about the new person you're seeing and you're comparing both of them, it must be really tricky. You have to do what's best for you and your daughter, don't be too hard on yourself. X
