Bail conditions

My OH has been on bail since May last year (the standard bail of not staying here as our daughter is under 18 and no unsupervised contact). It has been difficult at times, but we have kept to the conditions and will continue to. But I have been wondering if the police check up to make sure the bail conditions are being kept to. We are constantly living in fear every time someone knocks at the door it will be the police again. My OH was on his own the other day while I was at work and our daughter was at school, he'd fallen asleep when he heard someone banging on the door who was quite insistent.
My Oh has been on bail since Sep 23 and in that time we have had 1 bail check. He's allowed here every day but just not allowed to sleep here. He was here when police done a bail check and the OIC confirmed no conditions had been broken so yes bail checks do happen but as long as you are sticking to the conditions there is nothing to worry about
My oh was on bail 17.5 months nobody checked at all. Just make sure your there when you're daughter is and they can't say anything. He could of been doing jobs round the house whilst everyone was out. My oh was left at home a few times but the children were with me and if they was at home I was. He used to come around 7am and leave around 10pm on his days off and nothing was ever said
Dawn - My husband was a police officer and he says that doing a bail check is something they would do on a very quiet shift when there didn't seem much else that needed doing. He also said that the checks were almost always to do with curfews so they would just go to an address and ask to have sight of 'Joe Bloggs' to show they were where they should be and that was that. He says they didn't even need to go inside.
Our son's OIC told him that as he had asked for some clarification about his bail conditions (he wanted to know if he could sleep in our garden shed or whether that was still counted as our house) her conclusion was he must be thinking of breaking them (!!!!!) so our local police had been instructed to make bail checks at our address. This was back in May and I think they must have lost the 'memo' as we're still waiting. So, as Bub has said, it's not impossible but also not very common unless I guess someone has already been in trouble for breaking them in the past, then I can appreciate it would be necessary. It would be impossible to do it properly anyway without them coming in and searching everywhere for an under 18 year old and they can't do that without a warrant. You can of course ask them in which is the best thing to do really, but remember it's your invitation because you're not doing anything wrong, not their right! A tiny bit of power we have in all this horror! I try to remember that the police are just normal people with homes and families doing their job (apart from some exceptions!) and if a bail check happens it's no big deal really (says she who was triggered any time a car slowed down outside our house last May!)

Thanks for the replys.
My OH stays at home until I go to bed, then he waits until I text him in the morning when I'm up so he knows he can come back. We used to take it in turns to be taxi for our daughter, like when she goes to guides on a Friday night. I would drop her off then he would pick her up, now I have to pick her up so I can't put my pyjamas on early! I work in a school and I get the school holidays off, so we're okay then. The only issue is when our daughter finishes her GCSEs and will be leaving school in June. We'll have to sort something out then if he is still on bail, as I'm not allowed to bring my laptop home so I won't be able to work at home.
