Dear Forum Users

We wanted to remind everyone the importance of their anonymity and being mindful of the information they share. Whilst we encourage you to support one another and share your stories, please bear in mind this is an open forum and to not share any identifiable information. We discourage users sharing any information such as ages and gender of children (in combination with one another), locations and family relations. It might be helpful to change parts of your situation on the forum, so no one else can identify you. Don't forget, that there is the direct messaging function, where it may be more appropriate to share more personal information.

Your safety is our top priority and if anyone has any concerns, then please do contact us at forum@lucyfaithfull.org.uk .

We are going to bump this thread regularly so all and new users can be reminded of this message.

Kind Regards

The Forum Team

I understand your intent on this; that you want to protect us.

However, encouraging anonymity in this way adds to the implicit shame that family and friends feel regarding a crime we did not commit.

I understand the concern.

This forum can be read by anyone.

I am sure that behind the scenes the Lucy faithful foundation has to do a lot of banning of people that only register here to insult us or voice their disagreement.

I totally understand the need for confidentiality. It does though add to a sense for us poor wives hiding in the shadows with shame. I hate that feeling but do appreciate the need for it. I wish we could call each other by names - its so sad we can't

This doesn't have anything to do with shame or our guilt. The forum can be read by your neighbour, social worker, (ex) partner, OIC. There's no reason to give any more ammunition to those parties to use against us.

I'm always fearful of someone looking at the forum and glancing at my posts and putting two and two together, hence why I delete some of my posts/comments if I feel they contain too much information.

Personal messaging is brilliant.
