son 28 was arrested (first offence) for mithering an underage girl for a photo...(which she didnt send him)
We didnt hear a peep from anyone for 3 years and all of a sudden a court date comes through the door. February 14th, 4yrs since the arrest , he is sentenced to 3 and a half years...he was also my carer.
Ive been crying for 3 days, confused, shocked, angry, scared, i hope hes ok , not heard anything from him yet, he was weeping before he went in court, hes a big softie. If he was such a danger to the public why did they wait 4 years to lock him up ? I know what he did was bad, but im broken, so shocked , sorry to unload on you guys but ....i dunno im lost just now...

Ahh my lovely. Not a lot to offer practically but offering you a virtual hand to hold.
it is SO cruel to let the pain of uncertainty drag on for years, living life in limbo then having to face court/sentencing.
it can take time to get that all important first call through, he could be just adjusting into his new routine before he requests and sorts out getting his contact numbers authorised. My son is my loved one in prison, can I add a grain of comfort here, it really is true the time will absolutely fly by.
Lots of lovely kind caring ladies on here, who I'm sure will give you understanding and comfort, you are not alone xxxx
