We're at the waiting for a court date stage but thinking what if internet Use is banned as part of any orders given by the courts.

Does it mean no WhatsApp, Instagram, things like that on a phone? Just wondering if we could still have TV ie netflix and Freeview channels and if gaming stations would be allowed on line?? It's such a minefield isn't it

Hi Bettyboo, I can sense your anxiety as you wait for your court date and agree the whole thought of living with restrictions is a minefield but it does become easier once you get used to them.
My son is allowed to use the internet as long as he doesn't delete the search history. He chooses not to have any social media on his phone but could do if he wanted to, he would just need to let the police know what accounts he has. I've not heard of anyone being told they can't have Netflix and there won't be an issue with free view. My son also has a games console which he has registered with the police.
Sending you a big hug.

A games console that connects to the internet needs to be declared to the police.

Smart TVs also have to be declared. Basically any device that can connect to the internet. But that doesn't stop him using them. The SHPO usually says he is not allowed to delete his search history and make the devices available for checking.

Another thing to be careful of is usernames. These are counted as other names he is known by and have to be given to the police at his annual notification.
