Hi everyone,

We are post court date ect and at the stage of re referral to social services as they closed our case about a year ago whilst still under investigation.

The goal is for him to move back home. It is currently supervised contact, no limit to fixed days, amount of time ect, other than sleeping here, he basically lives here.

My question is how do you navigate the likely questions for social services of 'how will you keep the children safe at night time, when you are asleep' ?

Myself and my partner have agreed that should the time come that he can move back home that he would go to bed and wake up at the times I do, so no going to bed before me, staying up later than me, no laying in bed in the morning when I'm downstairs.

Thanks for any suggestions and advice.

Hope you are all okay xx

My partner lives at home with us and we currently have it in place that he sleeps downstairs on the sofa and a child gate at the top of the stairs so the kids can't go down and I'd hear it if he came up. There is also a baby cam in the kids bedroom which I'm paying something like £5 a month for it to record all footage which I can look back on. That's maybe something you could suggest?

What was the outcome of his conviction? I suppose it would also depend on that how far SS will want to impose safeguarding. They might suggest he sleeps on a different level to the kids like in our current situation x

How old are the children? It's easier if they are older, that they know and therefore can 'keep themselves safe'. A term SS love to use.
i was forced to tell mine before partner could move back home. It was a horrible time, but was able to get him home, the safety plan was no intimate care, knock before entering a room, getting changed in their rooms, I did LFF & safeguarding courses x
