So after a year of this hell, my ex husband has finally been allowed some unsupervised contact with our son. It will be a slow process - just starting with a few hours - but my son was so happy when I told him. What I have learnt with the social workers is that you have to just keep battling away. Our first social worker was beyond bad and created a trial of destruction and emotional distress to our son. I will never forgive the authorities for her totally incompetence - basically telling him about my husband's crimes. But I just wanted to post this to give you some hope that if your OH's put in the work the authorities will lower the risk.
