My ex partner has told me his probation/support worker has said he isn't suitable for the treatment programme he was sentenced to so will have to return to court.

Is this a thing? Why isn't he suitable? What could happen when he returns to court.

I find it hard to trust him and wonder could he have been charged with something else?

Is there any way of finding out?

Do you know which programme he was told to attend? It could be that the probation officer who did the pre sentence assessment scored him to be a higher risk than he actually is. If he was initially assessed as medium or high risk and the court followed those recommendations he could have been told to attend a course, for example the Horizon course which is no longer suitable for him if his risk has now been reduced.

If he completed the LFF programme and/or has gone through psychotherapy his probation officer might also think that he has already covered a lot of what the course would cover and tberefrore doesn't think it's worth him doing the course.

I didn't realise that people had to go back through court though when this was the case.

My son was told he didn't qualify for the horizon course but he didn't have to go back to court

Thankyou so much for replying.

I believe him to be very low risk (hope my instinct is right)

I heard alarm bells when he mentioned returning to court. I feel I dont know everything and am concerned there is more. Truly can't face anymore hurt or lies, but something is keeping him in my life. Although very much at arms length and on my terms.
