It's weekends like this - bank holidays - that families get together - and feeling alone really hits home.

When you can't intrude on other people's time.

Off to make the most of the nice weather and go for a walk. Just me and my headphones. Maybe treat myself to a coffee and read my book. And try not to feel like a billy no mates.

It's really hard spending these occasions alone when everyone else is getting together. While it's great we all have the support here for each other, it's not the same.

I'm lucky to have my parents nearby, so I've been with them during the day and been out for walks. But home feels very lonely since my (soon-to-be-ex-) husband moved out. I hate living alone but I was left with no choice after I discovered more of what he's done, so I'm having to learn how to get on with this new life I've been left with.

I hope you found some pleasure in your walk / book / coffee but I know where you're coming from and how hard it is xx

You are not alone. I am here. Where are going for your walk? What music do like to listen to?

These times really hit hard when you're feeling alone. I'm here though walking beside you so you're not on your own.

These bank hols can hit hard. I see families together and feel such sadness my family is wrecked and divided, it's quite lonely isn't it?

I look at them thinking and wondering what sadnesses they could be hiding behind their laughter. I then do my best to count my blessings but agree it's not easy.

I echo your words. Things aren't always as they seem for other people but when we thought we had life somewhat sorted and now we don't it's heartbreaking. I try and think about the good things in my life but I had a moment of feeling bitter the other day which I think is ok but then it doesn't make me feel better so I try to appreciate what I do have X

I had a nice walk - along the beach and even had an ice cream. Nice to see so many folk out enjoying the good weather. Then I sat in my car to read my book and watch the sea. Then home to an empty house.

Feel like I have a black cloud hanging over me just now.

I'm so sorry to know that you're feeling low and lonely. If you're the type of person who needs social interaction weekends on your own can be so hard. Do you have a friend or someone you know that would also be alone? So many people feel isolated for different reasons these days and there may be someone you know who is also feeling alone.

Anxious x

So glad you managed to get out , definitely agree with what everyone has already said xx

I am on my own so totally understand these long weekends how to fill them

I was fortunate to have our furbaby for the 4 days gave me the reason to get out for a few lovely walks x

I also had a visit with my son , my daughter has been poorly since Saturday night bless her been sick and not been able to keep anything down but thankfully today she is able to drink fluids so when I dropped the furbaby off I didn't get to see her as she was in bed

Not sure where you are but just know you are not alone you have us xx
