The guys at the prison where my husband is currently serving have been very concerned about a duck and her ducklings who is on the grounds of the open prison. They were discussing how they could collectively protect her ducklings from the seagulls and proposed regular welfare checks. Between them they are on duckling watch. It made me smile to hear my husband tell the story. It should also remind us that even though our people have committed an offence they are still the people we love. x

I don't have much to report this week. Work is busy, life is busy but i'm still managing to find time to continue on my journey of self discovery making the most of the mental health well being workshops and support in my local area.

Despite still not finding a job my son is doing well in himself and says he feels he is in a good place at the moment.

I too have been saddened to read the posts from new members this week. My heart goes out to you all as I remember only too well how traumatic and completely awful those early days and weeks are.

Sending you all strength and peace and hoping everyone manages to find some time to spend on self care this weekend.

Hello friday check in

Have had a lovely day out with a friend. Will be meeting another friend tomorrow spending time overnight, so there might be some drinking involved. So something to look forward to, though it will be a long drive due to the train strike so an added stress but hey ho.
Week uneventful really. My furbabies keep me busy and sane most of the time.

Hello all.

I am due to give birth soon and my husband is removed from our home so our baby can come home. I'm trying to shift my mindset from what I had hoped to what I can hope for now.. and I am trying not to get upset. We tell ourselves this is 'just for now' and we will work towards reuniting under one roof.. but it's hard, as I don't know when, or how.

Flower I can't imagine how your feeling at all sending you strength and hugs xx

We went out today and in true father and teenage daughter style I was the one stuck in the middle I kind of lost it, I just wanted a nice few hours out with no bickering, I came home to build the jigsaw I purchased its all built and broken down back in the box.

Weather to be poor here the weekend but I really want to get some cleaning done so early start for me tomorrow.

Everyone in bed and enjoying the silence it's been long awaited today.

My thoughts have been with many this week I feel so sad that new people find themselves in this situation on an almost daily basis, sending strength to each and everyone of you xx

@Flower It's good to hear from you - I was thinking about you the last couple of days and was wondering how you were doing.

I wish you all the best for the birth, stay strong and lean into any additional support you can get xx

@Flower lots of love and strength to you! I am trying the same, looking at the future we can build and not focus on the things that simply can't be done at the moment.

Had a bit of a wobble two times this week where my OH and me had an argument about totally trivial (and unrelated to the crime) things but I feel because of our situation we are just on edge a lot and things get heated quite quickly. In these moments it's hard for me not to think "how can you even argue with me about these small things when you have done such a big terrible thing"

After a while I realise that's just not productive thinking at all and probably how all the people that give us a hard time think as well. It still takes me a long time to transform these thoughts into something that's more useful but I'm trying.

Hope you are all doing well!

Flower, All best wishes for your exciting delivery.

So sorry that some more devastated people have had to join us. Please know that although every circumstance is different,we have all gone through the same emotions.

Our slight positive this week, is that our son was finally given his SHPO ,three months after sentencing! It took 10 minutes on an online call in solicitors office.
This means he can now have monitoring software on any internet access devices & may be able to get a laptop & have email. This will help his search for employment & contact with lead agencies.

First thing he did was leave a message for his lead police offer.

Just managed to do my 99th Parkrun in under 45mins. Definitely good for the psyche.

Hope your week doesn't have any surprises!

We had a wonderful day outside. In the morning we enjoyed our garden with our bubble machine. In the afternoon we went to the Botanical garden, where the kids ate ice cream and were running around on the playground.

At the moment I'm sitting in our living room with 2 kids sleeping and the baby wiiiiide awake. But she sleeps from 8 pm - 6 am in the morning, so I can't complain! :)

My husband is doing the shopping atm, as our fridge is empty and needs filling up.

In regards to the investigation, we're stuck in limbo with no update from police (arrest was July 2022).

I wish you all a lovely weekend xx
