After 2nd interview

Hi all.
What comes after the second interview? Ifs been about a month and we've heard absolutely nothing. Solicitor won't get back to us and my go between is off sick or on holiday again so can't get answers.
Will we be told when it's sent to cps? Feels like they're dragging their feet on purpose.

Hi EA,
Same mental torture going on in my head for our son's situation! He 's had a second interview but about a different offence and has a defence solicitor who says she contacts the police regularly for updates and gets no response (I gather that's a common occurence) apart from when there was going to be a child protection meeting about his children and suddenly the OIC became dutiful and disclosed that there had been some results from their investigation and disclosed what that was to the solicitor. It seems there is only any diligence in communication when the stakes are higher and police reputation might be on the line if it looked sloppy (eg family court proceedings) than when it's just us lowly mortals wanting/needing to know for our own mental health. This makes me extremely angry but I've learnt that there is no point in getting het up about it (although I daydream about the letter of complaint we will write one day!!) I tell myself that this is all good for character building in me (HA!)
My abiding fear is that we won't know when things go to the CPS as the way we cope is dealing with one chunk at a time so at the moment we're assuming that things are still at an investigative stage. I would go into a whirl of anxiety if next thing we hear is charges as I need time to psych myself up for that. It's so unfair, isn't it?
No advice from me I'm afraid, but total empathy and solidarity xx

Hi EA, my son didn't have a second interview but his case went back and forth between the police and the CPS several times. He was never automatically updated on the progress and was only informed what was happening when he contacted the OIC to ask.
I know how awful the waiting is so if you have full disclosure I would suggest contacting the OIC to ask if the case has been sent to CPS yet.

It was a few months between the second interview and charges being pressed. The police said it had gone to the CPS but when we called (a few times weeks after being told this) the CPS said they didn't have it. It's really difficult trying to figure out what is going on and how long things are going to take, it's torturous! Xx
Hi,
Why do things go back and forth between the police and the CPS? My person's apparently went back and forth twice before charges.

Thanks all!
I do have full disclosure but even my person can't contact the police direct we have to go between solicitors and my sw and they never get responses.
He's not even been bail checked in nearly a year maybe more but is such a danger *rolls eyes*
It's ridiculous they can't just be open and honest. It makes me question EVERY thing they do.
