Hello all,

Hope you are as well as can be.

I know most of us shudder at a lot of technology due to our journies but I just wanted to share with you something that has helped me in life recently that could help others on this journey when it comes to writing emails or letters they may need. I know Chat GPT isn't new but I've found it really useful for quickly and professionally writing letters of complaint and even in my work and it's free. If you download it you could say something like "write me a professional email to Social Services to explain x, y and z including that I am unhappy with the fact they did x, y and z and this breaches a, b and c" and it will give you a strongly worded and brilliant email.

It's also a lot more helpful than Googling things as long as you remember to ask the question localised to the issue so for example "what is the process for x in England". I would always advise to not rely 100% on everything you get back but it makes a great starting point for getting an answer that you could then research further. I also use it for things like "how can I word this sentence more professionally" as I have a habit of writing things how I speak.

It's very user friendly so simple for people who aren't techy at all. Just thought it might help some of you who are in the process of back and forth with the various authorities we have to deal with on this journey, particularly if letter writing isn't your best skill and you want to save some time. You can also copy a whole heap of writing and ask it to re-word it more professionally. Even if it's not useful on the journey it might make your life a bit easier :) x

Thank you Baffled for sharing this information. I agree this is a really useful tool to help people whilst struggling with putting a letter together at a time when most are overwhelmed with the situation and literally have no idea where to start or how to construct such an important letter/email. Thankfully we are post knock/sentencing and are no longer having to deal with the authorities etc but just have the annual Visor visits to deal with. I do have a work colleague who is at the start of this journey and I know she would find this tool extremely helpful.
Hope you are okay.

Best wishes

Another thank you from me. I have a couple of letters I need to write and have been putting it off due to being afraid I might get it wrong - and I enjoy writing usually so it must be extra challenging for people where it's not something they are confident about.

Glad to hear it's helpful :)

I do come here in stints but I'm always happy to help anyone who may struggle with things like this. I'll never forget how lost and alone I felt at the start of this journey so it's only right I continue to support people as much as possible and anything at all to ease the burden of the crap you have to deal with is worth sharing Xxx
