Hi everyone

Sorry in advance for the possibly silly question but I've been up most of the night. No matter how hard I try I'm unable to turn my brain off.

So....the OHs devices have been downloaded. At what point did the police inform you if there was or wasn't any evidence? Why would they want a second interview?

To give context, he has been unable to travel home and it seems the police can't travel to him.

I was told they were looking to see if they had enough evidence to go to CPS without the interview.

I asked questions on Monday but was given quite exasperated responses from the OIC.

If they are saying they haven't decided whether to go to the CPS, then that suggests they are unsure if they have enough to charge him. I would have thought that they would ring the CPS though and ask if its enough to charge, because charging is the CPS decision at the end of the day, not the police and its them who decide, so the OIC will not know for sure, until the CPS tell them.

Without knowing how busy the police or the CPS are in your area, it's hard to say how long it might take to resolve. Could be weeks, or months, I'm afraid. Depending on what the CPS say, a second interview might be needed, in which case they would have to wait for that, or if its more clear cut, they could just send charges in the post.

Hi edel2020

Thank you so much for your reply. That makes things clearer. Maybe that is what the police were actually trying to say but all I heard was irritation in their voice making me feel stupid.

im struggling to imagine a situation where he would have that kind conversation. We've had experience of a person making comments to our daughter on Roblox that we felt could be the initial stages of grooming. Seemingly innocent, 'can I tell you something?' Ect.... We both shut it down immediately. Fortunately we'd spoken to them all about being safe so she came straight to us about it even though she had thought they were a friend from a previous school.

Out of interest does anyone have experience of a single offence of sexual communication, no images of any sort involved?

My ohs phone was taken the Thursday and they returned the Friday to arrest it literally took less than 24 hours to check his phone it was 5 images, crazy that it was that quick yet court proceedings took 15 months to get through
