Hi everyone,

I hope you’re all doing as OK as possible in the circumstances. I just wanted to jump on here to give you an update on my situation and hopefully inspire a bit of hope.

Last Friday was 6 months since “the knock” and to say they’ve been the most horrendous 6 months of my life wouldn’t be an understatement. I’ve come close to losing everything and the anxiety and depression I’ve experienced have been at whole new levels for me.

Today, we received news that the police would not be charging my partner. There was insufficient evidence and they found nothing illegal on his devices, so there will be no further action and he can have all of his devices back (not that he wants them now).

We’ve still got a lengthy journey ahead of us with social services, as the fact that he hasn’t broken the law doesn’t mean they’ll just go away, as they have their concerns, but I’m hoping that this might be the start of us rebuilding a future.

It’s been so hard, and I’m not fully out of the other side yet, but I wanted to let you see someone on here whose partner did have everything dropped - it DOES happen!

Love to all of you xx

What fantastic news for you! Slowly I’m sure you will get back perhaps to a better place than you were before!

Thank you for sharing as I’m sure it will give many others hope!

Out of curiosity and apprehension did they call you or visit and did they advise you how to move forward

Jayne G that is amazing news I am so happy for you and hope that I will one day have my decision yo 'stand by my man' justified like you did.

I know you've got a long road ahead but at least you can breathe a little easier now. We'll done for making it through this nightmare intact.

Xxx

Fantastic news, I am so pleased for you. I really hope your experience with SS isn't as bad as you are anticipating.

Hope you are cracking open something to celebrate

Hi,

Sorry, I thought I’d replied. So the police didn’t visit my partner to tell him; they just called him. They did visit his ex (the mother of his children) to explain the situation (as, some of what they found, whilst not illegal, has been flagged with SS). The only face to face interaction he’ll have is when he goes back to collect his devices, which are all being returned as there’s nothing illegal or indecent on them.

There IS hope. I’ve a long way to go but I’ll get there xx
