Sorry to be posting so much and not giving a lot back right now. I know that when the panic settles I will use my experience to wholeheartedly support others on this horrible journey and I will make that my main goal.

I've posted today that my OH is having a second interview. I want to know what is said during this, basically I want full disclosure. Sorry to be stupid but what is the process and how do I ask my partner?

lots of love to everyone here

Hi,

We haven't got as far as a second interview (still waiting on forensics - it's an IIOC case), but my husband agreed to full disclosure with his solicitor right at at the start. Basically it meant I was invited to sit in on all meetings etc between him & his solicitor / barrister & the solicitor will show me anything he receives from the police if / when we get to that point, on the same basis as my husband. I asked my husband to ask for all the above in writing with me cc'ed, which he did. I don't know if there's a full disclosure process with the police as well? If your OH has a solicitor I presume you could ask him for the same?

Hi lovely,

We had no disclosure from police, but due to having younger children a Social Worker disclosed info shared by police.

I hope you get answers.

You can ask your person to get the solicitor to share details with you. That's what we did

Social services won't get full disclosure, they will be told what they need to know from a safeguarding perspective (I'm a social worker)

Thanks everyone

I have asked him for full disclosure for his second interview. He didn't have a solicitor for the first as he said he hadn't done anything wrong. I chose not to have one during my interview for the same reason and was desperate to get home for my children.

My understanding is that to get full disclosure it has to be via your OH giving his solicitor permission to share with you (assuming there's one you've instructed rather than the duty one on the day)

Otherwise it will be via what your OH tells you (dependent on him being honest with you or not knowing everything from the police himself) until you find out in Court if you choose to attend which must be horrible for family members.

If you don't have a solicitor then I'm not sure if there is any other way as the police will be very selective in what they tell you and the SW will only tell what she/he needs to know to keep your children safe.

If what I've told you is wrong, hopefully someone will correct me xx

So if he has a duty solicitor won't be told any real information?

Your person as to give permission to their solicitor for you to have full disclosure. I had this and I had conversations with the solicitor over different things and even helped get stuff amended on his shpo that I didn't feel was meant to be on there

My son gave full disclosure to his wife (now ex wife) following his interview at the time of his arrest. He was asked by the police if he wanted his wife to have full disclosure and he'sagreed. He said he had to sign something on a tablet to confirm but can't remember any more than that it's all a bit of a blur. His wife was then able to talk to the OIC directly and could ask questions and request updates as she wanted.

Hi again - I think the duty solicitor only has a short time to know about the case as they are 'on duty' for that day and get called in to see whoever is being interviewed and has asked for a solicitor. But reading what Ocean has said, your person can ask the police about you having full disclosure, although I don't think our son was asked about that. Maybe he can ask the OIC who would know.

I would expect a second interview to be one where the police want to establish more details to help their investigation, and most people advise a no comment response. Our son was out and on his way home within 20 mins (a 3 hour each way trip!!)
