Morning , I know it varies from area to area but is there anyone in the South East who can shed some light on how long it took for devices to be analysed and the process moved along? My son was arrested in November and bail has been extended once already. Next bail date is end of May and it's making me very anxious again as we approach this date - I'm fully aware it could be extended again - this dread hanging over me is at the forefront of my mind today - sending love and strength to everyone x

Hi there my person was arrested September. Bailed until Dec. Then bailed until March. When he went in March he was questioned again. Duty solicitor was present. He was then bailed until June. We are in the North East x

Hi, I'm going through this for the second time. My ex was arrested for the second time two years ago. It took about 18 months for them to call him back in for interview. It was then sent to the CPS about 8 weeks. So, we are still waiting. The stress is literally unbearable. He will be going back to prison. I'm sorry you're going through this. I don't know if we are allowed to message each other but If we are and you need someone to listen, I'm always here to help. X. We are in the South East, crimes were committed under the Met.

We are in the 'South East' September 21 arrest. Released under Investigation

November 23 for charge. Sentencing January 24. Over two years.

It's tough carrying on a normal life while waiting. But this place is a wonderful source of support.

North west.... 18 months for devices to be checked, then 4 months for police to send to cps. Still waiting for charges from cps.

Also SE, coming up to 1 year since the knock.... OH in RUI since Jan and not heard from either social services or police since then. I have given up now even chasing for updates or answers.

It is a weird place to be as I now rarely come on this forum - from daily to every few weeks now.

The first 6 months were so intense and now it is like it never happened but I know one day, some day it will all pop again as it goes off to CPS and then social services will be back in our lives and I will be back in the living hell that it was. I am living in dread of the court process.

I am def not settled in normality, as I carry a very big secret... I feel it is starting to eat me up again the longer we hear nothing.

My OH is sometimes clueless about the inplications of what he has done.... just last week for example he was talking about us all going off to centre parcs for a break and I had to say, I might be, but you will not.... that is frustrating as hell for me esp since he has done a course with safer lives.

Thank you all for your responses - crazy how it varies so much depending on where you live. We are 6 months in now and bail extended twice - my son has just had a letter informing him of a new OIC who is extending until the end of August - trying to carry on as a 'new normal' but life is literally in limbo. Wouldnt wish this experience on my worst enemy. What are we to expect once his phone has been examined ?

Hey,

I'm from the South East. It has taken 11 months to get any answers.

My husband was very close to suicide and then the police started doing "welfare" checks on him! Then last Thursday they came round to tell us that there the case was closed and it's a NFA.

It's really frustrating, because there doesn't seem to be any consistency at all!

I hope you are doing okay!
